About Gather the Women DC

Gather the Women DC is a regional affiliate of Gather the Women Global Matrix, a virtual, Internet-based gathering place to connect women and women's organization. Gather the Women Global Matrix seeks to create a peaceful, just, sustainable society by activating and mainstreaming feminine wisdom, ideas and values and promoting new models of feminine collaboration.

Gather the Women is part of a global movement of women for social change. Compassion, spirituality, desire for peace, and maternal concern to protect and provide for future generations of children and living beings are the forces that can save the world. GTW's role is to plant seeds or find topics and issues around which women can connect, dialogue, get support on, and act. A GTW event may launch a project or action circle, which then becomes autonomous.

Women networking and gathering in circles for support and action can create a tipping point, that critical number of people who adopt and mainstream the new world view, ideas, and values of peaceful cooperation and sustainability. Circles formed throughout the world create a resonance of like-minded thought and energy that influences collective memory, consciousness, and habit.
