Fees: $5.00 per session at the door
Have fun and look at your story through the magical lens of the fairy tale.
Writing your own life as a fairy tale can be a unique and creative way to:
look at your family and your context with eyes full of wonder, play with the power of the author to cast spells or break them, connect or re-connect to your life's task,
be surprised by unknown aspects of who you are, see dynamics which may appear VERY familiar, and receive wisdom and guidance from the numinous world of archetypes.
We will each write a two-to- three page fairy tale in which we, as the protagonist, encounter unknown challenges, go to nature for help and guidance, meet an edge figure from the archetypal world, and bring back the information we need for wholeness. It will be fun, creative and surprising!
This session we may move from looking at "youth tales" (in respect for the ages of our participants) and consider the themes of Middle Tales- what happens after the tasks of youth are accomplished "and they lived happily ever after." What are the tasks of adults in mid-life and how can our own stories reflect them. Perhaps writing from the point of view of the Hanzel and Gretel's mother, or even the notorious step-mother will enlighten and unburden us. Our personal shadows are always there to instruct us, if we can bear it. With inner reflection and writing our own stories we will share the healing of play and the joyful iconoclasm of the Middle story. Plot lines of stuck-struggle-revelations and transformation will externalize our common and uncommon experiences.
