The wound archetype comes to us from the Ages of Stone by way of story and legend; no one can say how old they are. This archetype consists of three elements: the wound, the wounded, and the one who inflicts the wound. This triune image appears in fairy tales such as Iron Hans, and The Girl Without Hands. Odysseus and Achilles are identified by their wounds, and the Fisher King's wound is still a mystery for us. In The Elucidation, a neglected part of the Grail Legend, we learn about the wound in the Sovereignty of the Land. We will review some stories that involve the image of the wound, which will help to orient us to the archetype. Then we will focus on The Elucidation. How might this story provide a key that restores Sovereignty to the outer, the inner, and the sacred dimensions of Life? Bring your journal.
For this program, we intend to offer CEUs for Social Workers.
