Course

Jung was very interested in the impact that color had in its capacity to express typology and mood.  He noticed color in the drawings and paintings that he urged his patients to make and he encouraged them to continue to ponder those paintings when they took them home.  He believed that the patients’ paintings and their attention to color helped to deepen the relationship to psyche.

Led by Sondra Geller, Jungian analyst and certified art therapist, this intimate class invites you to enter a soulful, creative space using imagination and visualization.  Prompts and guided imagery will encourage us to explore color as a phenomenon.  We will use basic art materials, pastels of various kinds and paper, to embark upon a personal and collective quest to explore questions such as:

What is the significance of color in our lives?  How do we use color in our soulful creative expressions?  How does color help us to express our feelings?  What can we express about our persona with our personal relationship to color?  What is the color of my soul, and where does it live within me?

No previous experience with art is necessary.  Just bring your curiosity and a desire to explore the soulful creative space.
